Red and White Almain - a Politarchopolan Dance

This dance is just like the Black Almain, except for the the number of Chasse steps and the cast at the end. This change is a modern invention to suit an particular piece of  music (see .nwc file or .pdf file)  and it has been adopted by the SCA Barony of Politarchopolis.

A dance for as many couples as will, in line going around the hall.

4 Almain doubles (the kind with the hop) LRLR forwards, turning to face your partner at end, drop hands

1 Almain double L backwards
1 Almain double R forwards, ending in a 90 degree turn to your left.
1 Almain double L along the line of other people's partners, ending in a 180 degree turn to your right
1 Almain double back along the line, ending in a 90 degree turn to face your partner

Gentlemen Left Single sideways, Right Single sideways, turn around 360 degrees to the left by doing an ordinary forwards double.
Then Ladies Left Single sideways, Right Single sideways, turn around 360 degrees to the left by doing an ordinary forwards double.

Take both your partner's hands and do 1 ordinary double to swap places, passing right shoulders.
3 Chasse Steps(*1) to the Gentleman's right
Keeping hold of both your partner's hands, and do 1 ordinary double to swap places, passing right shoulders.
3 Chasse Steps to the Gentleman's right, drop hands

1 Almain double L backwards
1 Almain double R forwards, ending in a turn to the front
Briefly touch hands, then cast out with 2 Almain doubles, returning to place. (*2)

Take hands again and start the dance from the beginning. On the second time through the Ladies set and turn first.
 

*1 A sideways single done as a slide with a hop on the end.

*2 i.e. Using the 2 Almain doubles, turn away from one another and continue in your own small circle until you come back together facing in the same direction
